George Oliva has joined Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda. in 2001 and his current role is Decommissioning & Restoration Lead. Prior to that assignment, he has worked in Upstream Development, Commercial, Projects & Technology, Energy Efficiency and Research & Development management positions. Besides the Oil & Gas industry, he has previous work experience in the Power and the Steel industry sectors. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineer from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) and an MBA from FGV.
Michel Frédeau leads BCG’s Climate and Environment impact area globally and is a member
of BCG’s Social Impact Practice leadership team. He has over 30 years of experience in the

Felipe Perez is the Director and Strategist for Americas Downstream in IHS Markit with over 15 years of experience in refining mainly in Latin America. Gordon Carlile has over 35 years’ experience in the international oil and gas industry. With a degree in civil engineering from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, Gordon has gained major offshore project experience from the perspectives of an engineering consultancy, an EPC contractor and bp. This experience has included fixed platforms, gravity based structures and FPSO projects in a variety of international locations.
From 2014 to 2019, Gordon was bp’s engineering manager for decommissioning projects, which included the removal of the UK North Sea Miller production platform. This major project saw the safe removal of 40,000Tonnes of facilities using highly innovative methods and team collaboration.

Marcelo Alfradique is the Deputy Head of Oil and Gas Department in the Energy Research Office – EPE (in Portuguese), which is a governmental body responsible for carrying out studies and research to assist the Ministry of Mines and Energy in elaborating the energy planning of Brazil. Marcelo Alfradique is a Chemical Engineer and he holds Master and Doctoral degrees in Technology of Chemical and Biochemical Processes from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Alfradique has more than 10 years of professional experience in natural gas sector, having expertise in supply and demand analysis, LNG, simulation of pipeline infrastructure, technical and economic feasibility studies, gas to power, as well as market design and regulatory issues. Anelise Quintão Lara is a chemical engineer and a PhD in Earth Sciences from
Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6), France, 1994. She has also completed
advanced executive programs at IBMEC and COPPEAD in Rio de Janeiro city.
Mrs. Lara has joined Petrobras in 1986 as a reservoir engineer. In 2013 she was
appointed Executive Manager for Libra Block, one of the biggest pre-salt area in
Brazil. In April 2016, Anelise became Head of M&A responsible for the
Divestment Program globally. Since March 2019, she is acting as Chief Refining
and Natural Gas Officer for Petrobras.
Anelise served as a member of SPE International Board from 2014 to 2017 and
Chair of the Brazilian Petroleum Institute Board (IBP) in 2019.
Arja Talakar is Senior Vice President of the Industrial Applications Products business unit at Siemens Energy. Carlos Alberto has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Militar de Engenharia do Rio de Janeiro (IME) and also in Business Management from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a specialist diploma in Petroleum Engineering and holds a master’s degree in Finance and Investments from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro – PUC-RJ. In 1997, he studied Petroleum Finance and Accounting at the University of Texas, in the United States.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Oliveira joined Petrobras in 1981 and has held various positions since then. In 1998, he became General Manager of Reservoirs and one year later he was appointed Executive Manager of the Exploration and Production Corporative department. In 2003, he was nominated Director of E&P at Petrobras Energia in Buenos Aires and stayed in this position until 2008, when he came back to Brazil as Executive Manager of Technical Support for International Affairs. From 2012 to 2016, he was in charge of the E&P Investment Management Programs in Drilling Rigs and Stationary Production Units and Production Development Projects. From 2016 to 2019, he held positions as Executive Manager of Strategy and Organization and General Manager of E&P Integrated Asset Management.
Carlos Pascual, joined IHS in January 2015 as Senior Vice President to focus on global energy issues and international affairs.
Mr. Pascual was previously US Ambassador to both Mexico and Ukraine and was Special Assistant to the US president for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia on the National Security Council. Mr. Pascual created the position of coordinator for reconstruction and stabilization in the State Department, establishing the first civilian response capacity to conflicts.
As the former US Energy Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the State Department, Mr. Pascual established and directed the Energy Resources Bureau and served as the Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State on energy issues. In that role, he led the negotiations on Iranian oil sanctions with China, India, and other countries.

Mechthild Wörsdörfer (@MWorsdorfer) joined the IEA on 1 October 2018 as
Director of Sustainability, Technology and Outlooks (STO). Ms Wörsdörfer plans
and co-ordinates the IEA’s work on energy sustainability, encompassing clean
energy technologies and climate change policy. Previously, Mechthild held several
senior management positions in the European Commission, where she coordinated
the work on the 2030 Energy and Climate Framework, the Clean Energy Package
and the 2050 Energy Roadmap. She had been involved with the IEA for a number
of years as IEA Governing Board Representative for the EU, and served in the
Cabinet of Commissioners, in charge of industry, competitiveness, trade and digital
economy.
Michael Stoppard, IHS Markit chief strategist for Global Gas and vice chair for CERAWeek, is a 25-year specialist in the international gas business.
Mr. Stoppard is responsible for the development and coordination of IHS Markit’s global and interregional coverage of pipeline gas markets and LNG. His expertise also includes long-term scenario planning and the role of natural gas in the Energy Transition. Mr Stoppard has advised some of the world’s largest LNG projects across continents. He is a regular speaker and moderator at major C-suite conferences including ADIPEC, the ATCE, CERAWeek, GasTech, SPIEF, and the World Gas Conference. He is the author of numerous IHS Markit reports, including “Two Visions of the Future of LNG,” “European Natural Gas: The New Configuration, and “The New Map of Global Gas.” He is co-author of the landmark paper “Exploring the Efficient Frontier: A Global Perspective on the Gas & Renewables Partnership”. Rafaela Guedes is Petrobras´ Chief Economist. In this role, she is responsible for developing and monitoring Petrobras’ corporate scenarios, macroeconomic forecasts, oil and oil products demand outlook and the development of strategic competitive analysis. Her main areas of interest are strategy, energy and climate change. She is currently member of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative Executive Committee. Rafaela joined Petrobras in 2006, since than she progressed through a number of assignments having worked in the Corporate E&P segment, in Investor Relations and in the International New Businesses Development. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Sciences by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a Master’s degree in International Management by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).
Seasoned professional focused on Research and Development (R&D) and Innovation management in the Oil & Energy industry. Electronic engineer from UFRJ with a master degree in production engineering at COPPE/UFRJ, he began his career as a junior entrepreneur at Fluxo Consultoria and continued his entrepreneurial skills development being responsible for starting and managing three companies, two consultancies and one subsea robotics startup. In early 2019, he accepted Total’s invitation to participate in the creation of the company’s research center in Brazil and took over the area of Research and Development Partnerships. He has a solid and proven experience in the innovation management process at large and small technology-based companies. Skilled in Negotiation, Competitive Intelligence, R&D projects, Business Development and Oil & Energy. Studious and interested in the dynamics of the Brazilian innovation ecosystem and enthusiastic about the ability of entrepreneurs to turn dreams into reality.
Roberto Castello Branco has been Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board
of Directors at Petrobras since January 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics,
with a PhD from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV EPGE) and a postdoctoral fellowship
from the University of Chicago. He participated in executive training programs at the
Sloan School of Management (MIT) and the International Institute for Management
Development (IMD).
Prior to joining Petrobras, Castello Branco was affiliated professor at School of
Economics and Finance (EPGE) and Acting Director at the Center for Economic Growth
and Development, both at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV).
From 1999 to 2014 he was a Managing Director at Vale S.A., one of the world´s largest
mining company. Previously, he hold managerial positions at some private banks, as
well as the Brazilian Central Bank.
Castello Branco served at several boards of directors, including Petrobras’ (between
May 2015 and April 2016). He has also been Director of the American Chamber of
Commerce (RJ), President of the Brazilian Institute of Investor Relations and Vice
President of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce.
Under his leadership, Petrobras achieved expressive net income (US$ 10.2bi) and
EBITDA (US$ 32.7bi) results in 2019. Castello Branco put forward a strategic plan
focused on Oil and Gas exploration and production while actively managing the
company’s portfolio. In 2019 Petrobras ranked amongst the top oil company in total
investments. Another undertaking is a large scale cultural and digital transformation
agenda driven towards value creation, resiliency and meritocracy.
Ms. Farrell heads the IHS Markit Energy and Climate Scenarios practice, which projects five different trajectories for oil, gas, coal, wind, solar, nuclear, and other energy sources out to 2050, including three that that meet the Paris Climate targets. She also directs the Executive Briefings: Oil and Gas and Executive Briefings: Climate and Cleantech services.
Ms. Farrell has extensive experience with presentations to executive teams and boards of directors discussing the outlook for industry drivers, markets, and company strategies.
Previously, Ms. Farrell led the global strategy groups of two global service sector companies, Brown and Root (then a division of Halliburton) and McDermott. She lived and worked in Europe for more than 10 years, in addition to time in Houston and New Orleans. She is currently located in Washington, DC. Ms. Farrell holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Brown University and an MBA with a specialization in finance from Boston University.
Vicente is a Senior Partner at the São Paulo Office of McKinsey. He joined
McKinsey as an Associate in 1997 and, since then, has focused on clients in the
industrial sector, serving them in a wide range of topics, primarily corporate
strategy, M&A, governance and corporate transformations. Vicente is currently the
Latin America B2B Leader
Prior to joining McKinsey, Vicente worked for Petrobras, where he was responsible
for developing new equipment for deep-water crude production.
Vicente has an MBA with Distinction from The Wharton School at the University of
Pennsylvania, and a degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University in
Minas Gerais (UFMG), where he graduated first in his class.
He is on the board of MASP, the São Paulo Art Museum, and the Portuguese
Chamber of Commerce in Brazil.
Vicente is a native speaker of Portuguese. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Alex Dal Pont is Innovation Manager at Petrobras’ Research and Innovation Center – CENPES and leads the company’s Startups Engagement Program. He acts also as Director of the Associação Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento das Empresas Inovadoras (ANPEI).
He has 19 years of experience in research and innovation, with more than 11 years leading innovation projects at Petrobras in partnerships with universities, research institutions, O&G operators and suppliers, in Brazil and abroad. During this time, he has been at the forefront of the development of subsea processing systems for offshore oil production, the qualification of subsea pipelines and umbilicals for the Pre-salt and the development and implementation of various technologies to optimize subsea activities. He worked on several fronts of collaboration in the industry, having been a representative of Petrobras in the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) and organized several national and international technical events in the area of O&G.
He is a mechanical engineer from the Federal University of Santa Catarina – UFSC, a master in Scientific and Industrial Metrology from UFSC and an MBA in Investment in Private Equity, Venture Capital and Startups, from FGV.
Bjørn Otto Sverdrup is Equinor’s Senior Vice President for Corporate Sustainability and a member of the management committee in the Global Strategy and Business Development business area. Since 2007 he has been a Vice President and member of several of Equinor’s top Management Committees, including Exploration and Development Norway, Development and Production International.
Following the 2011 terrorist attacks in Norway, Sverdrup served as chief of staff for the government-appointed commission investigating the attacks. Sverdrup also served at The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) as advisor and National expert to the EU Commission on corporate social responsibility. He was part of the integration planning committee for the merger between Statoil and Hydro Oil and Energy in 2007.
Sverdrup is a member of the Board of Directors at Norway’s largest university, NTNU and a member of the advisory board at the master program of the Grantham Institute of the Imperial College in London. Sverdrup is a political scientist and former research fellow from the University of Oslo. He lives in Oslo and is the father of three children.
Fábio Almeida Abrahão holds a degree in Mechanichal Engeneering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a master’s degree from the COPPEAD/UFRJ Institute. He also attended specialization in Management, Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)/Sloan.
Mr. Abrahao worked as special advisor to the Minister of State for Economy. Before joining the government, he worked for over 10 years structuring infrastructure investments and founded 2 tecnologic-based logistics operators, generating about 1000 direct jobs, operating in all Brazilian regions and many Latin America markets.
Francilmar held several positions since joining the Company, such as Well Engineer, Drilling Manager and Operations Manager. He is a professional with over 16 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry who has actively participated in PetroRio’s turnaround. He was also responsible for the 2016 workover and the successful 2018 drilling campaign, both of which took place in Polvo Field. Before joining PetroRio, Francilmar held the position of Rig Manager at Perbras – Empresa Brasileira de Perfuração. Francilmar has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFPB where he also studied Business Administration. He also has specialization in Petroleum Engineering from UNP and an MBA in Project Management from FGV.
Jerome Schmitt is the Chairman of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative Executive Committee. He is responsible for advancing and implementing the strategy set by the OGCI CEOs and building consensus among the team of senior executives representing OGCI’s member companies. Jerome holds a Civil Mining Engineer (S.E.).
Maiza Pimenta Goulart, is currently Executive Manager of Production Development Projects, leading the team responsible for the implementation of Petrobras Capital Projects for Upstream and Downstream segments.
She joined Petrobras in 2003, and she has since then assumed several leadership positions in Operation and FPSO Project Engineering areas.
Maiza is graduated with a Master degree in Naval Architect and Marine Engineer from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She also has Executive MBA and a Master in Administration from Fundação Dom Cabral, Brazil, and a post MBA from Kellog School of Management, in Chicago.
Marc was appointed to the role of Executive Vice President Exploration in
February 2017. In this role, Marc has global accountability for exploration
operations and new business opportunities worldwide, as well as overseeing all
technical aspects of exploration.
Marc’s career has spanned a variety of exploration roles since joining Shell in
Australia as a geologist in 1986, bringing over thirty years of experience and
leadership expertise to the Shell Group. This includes the position of Vice
President Exploration – Asia and Australia from 2009 to 2014. From 2004 to
2009, Marc was the General Manager Exploration and Board member for Shell
in Libya. He has also worked in technical and commercial roles in Angola, the UK
North Sea and Egypt.
From February 2015, prior to his current role; Marc held the position of Vice
President Strategy and Portfolio, Upstream and Integrated Gas.
With solid experience in multinationals in different sectors and locations, Paulo Henrique Van Der Ven started at Equinor in 2012 as leader of Climate and Environment. He is currently Vice President of Safety and Sustainability in Brazil, being responsible for the areas of security, human rights, environment and climate, emergency response, business continuity, in addition to health and the work environment. Graduated in Biological Sciences at Santa Úrsula University, Paulo has MBAs in Environmental Management and also in Project Management, both from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), in addition to having a master’s degree in Marine Biology from Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
Raphael Moura is the interim Director General of the Brazilian National Agency of
Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels – ANP, where he has previously served as
Superintendent of Exploration, Superintendent of Gas Infrastructure, Superintendent
of Operational Safety and Environment, and as a Senior Advisor to the Board of
Directors.
Mr. Moura is Honorary Research Fellow and Industrial Supervisor at the University of
Liverpool, where he pursued his Ph.D. in Engineering after obtaining a Master’s degree
in Risk Management from Cranfield university. He is also editor of the ASCE-ASME
Journal of Risk and Uncertainty in Engineering Systems Part B: Mechanical Engineering
and author of several technical articles in the fields of engineering, risks and
uncertainty.
Raquel Filgueiras – MsC in Energy Planning at Coppe-UFRJ with a bachelor’s degree in economics from UnB – University of Brasilia. Her bachelor was followed by three years of experience on Brazilian public sector. At first, at SPE – Secretariat of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Finance, monitoring macroeconomic indicators and supporting Minister’s decisions on economic matters. Afterwards, she was invited to be part of a research group for analysis of micro-data concerning government investments and infrastructure at Ipea – Institute of Applied Economic Research, where she stayed for two years. Her master´s was followed by a three-year experience on consulting at QuestManager, implementing and managing projects for large-scale companies of various sectors including retail, energy, and communications. In 2017, she joined IBP´s Economic Analysis team, coordinating research, studies, modeling, projecting key indicators and scenarios for the O&G and energy sectors.
Támara has more than 15 years of experience in the technology and innovation area of oil & gas business. She started her career in the Technology Center of Repsol in Madrid, Spain as part of the Technology Alliances team and later on developed most of her career as responsible of the E&P R&D portfolio management. Since 2017 she has been leading the R&D team in Repsol Sinopec Brasil.
Executive Director of the UFRJ Science Park, Vicente Ferreira has a PhD in economics, besides having master’s degree and a specialist degree in administration. Vicente has been a professor at the Coppead Institute of Administration for 22 years, where, in addition to teaching various disciplines in the area of corporate finance, he was deputy director of executive education and director of the institute. He currently holds the position of coordinator of the lato sensu specialization courses Executive MBA and Coppead Finance.
He did some research in the areas of business performance assessment and accounting systems for managerial decision making. Currently, his main interests are related to the theme of valuation of early stage ventures. Vicente has experience in the areas of purchasing, planning, management control and business performance evaluation in public and private companies.
Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), in 1980, he joined Petrobras in 1981, where he remained until 2015, having held several technical and managerial functions, among them the Executive Manager for Exploration and Production of South and Southeast (Campos and Santos Basins), Executive Manager of the Petrobras Research Center – CENPES and Executive Manager for Pre-Salt Developments. He is specialized in Petroleum Engineering by the University of Alberta, Canada, in Business Administration by Columbia University, in the USA, and in Technological Management by INSEAD, in France.
After leaving Petrobras, he served as Executive Director of GranEnergia, as CEO of Porto do Açu and as a member of the Boards of Directors of Grupo Ultra and IBP.
Since June 2019 he has served as CEO of Prumo Logística, and as a member of the boards of directors of Porto do Açu, Ferroport, Açu Petróleo and Gás Natural do Açu (GNA), subsidiaries of the Prumo Group.
Transformation architect at LEAP and partner at KPMG in Brazil, Daniel has two decades of
experience in multisectoral companies (oil and natural gas; renewable energy; and electronic
products) as Master Black Belt & Digital Innovation leader. Graduated in Industrial/Production
Engineering with an MBA in Petroleum Engineering, he is currently Head of Digital
Transformation and Industry 4.0 at the Norwegian Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s Innovation
Committee. He has founded five startups in Brazil and China and led Chevron’s first international
drone / UAV project, where he was also recognized as the leader in innovation and digital
acceleration for Latin America in 2019. He has won innovation awards such as the Chevron
Digital Dojo 2 worldwide championship.
Décio Fabricio Oddone da Costa is an electrical engineer from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He studied petroleum engineering at Petrobras, the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and the Advanced Management Program at Insead (Institut européen d’administration des affaires). Among other recognitions, he was awarded the title of doctor honoris causa in Education at the Universidad de Aquino.
He was CEO of Petrobras Bolivia, President and CEO of Petrobras Energia, Vice President of Braskem, Director of Prumo Logística and General Director of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of the Americas, in the USA, and chaired the Bolivian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Argentine Chamber of the Petroleum Industry.
He assumed the position of CEO of Enauta in September 2020.
Heiko Meyer holds his current position as Senior Vice President Strategy, Sustainability and M&A of Wintershall Dea since May 2019.
He has 30 years of experience in the E&P industry with several long-term international assignments in The Netherlands, Oman, Syria, and Argentina.
He has a proven record of accomplishment in various New Business Development and M&A functions. From 2014 until 2019 he has been Vice President Global Strategy and Portfolio Management at Wintershall. In the recent past, Heiko Meyer headed different major projects of organizational and cultural change, and has been responsible to develop Wintershall Dea´s recently announced sustainability strategy.
Heiko Meyer has a background as a petroleum engineer with special focus on reservoir engineering, field development and business planning. He holds a M.Eng. Petroleum Engineering having studied at the Technical Unviersity Clausthal in Germany and at Imperial College London.

Mr. Joelson Falcão Mendes currently holds the position of Ultra-deep Water Executive Manager, in the Exploration and Production area at Petrobras. For the past 15 years, always for Petrobras, he held the position of General Manager of the Exploration and Production Units such as Amazonas; Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará; the Campos Basin, and also held the position of South and Southeast Exploration and Production Executive Manager. He graduated in mechanical engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, and has a specialization in petroleum equipment engineering, from Petrobras University and an MBA in Business Management from FGV.
Graduated from a Bachelor of Business Administration at Veiga de Almeida University and with a postgraduate degree in Business and Project Management with focus on Energy, Oil and Gas from Fundação Dom Cabral, Leonardo Caldas delivered a Course Conclusion Paper approved with merits by Dom Cabral, on the theme “Mapping, Classification and Engagement of Stakeholders”.
At the beginning of his professional career, he worked for a long time as a trader of futures contracts for oil and derivatives in New York and London, at the New York Mercantile Exchange and at the International Petroleum Exchange.
Back in Brazil after 13 years abroad, he joined ANP where he served for many years as Executive Manager of the Supply area, Superintendent of Management and Acquisitions, Advisor to the Board of Directors and Executive Secretary. He acted as the Agency’s representative in the Federal Government Programs BRASIL EFICIENTE, as responsible for “ANP’s Regulatory Stock Management” project, and REATE, as a member of the executive committee and coordinator of the subcommittee on “Incentives to P, D & I, Policy Guidelines Energy and Regulatory Improvement ”.
Since July, he holds the position of Institutional Relations Director at Perenco do Brasil, a company with extensive worldwide experience in the operation of mature fields that took over, in October 2019, the operation of Pargo Polo in the Campos Basin.
Luiz Costamilan ‐ 40 years of comprehensive experience in leadership positions in international energy and infrastructure activities, with strong background in Brazil’s offshore exploration & production, natural gas industry and business development across multiple segments.
Presently he is Executive Secretary, Natural Gas at IBP (Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo), an independent Board Member of Queiroz Galvão Exploração e Produção, Operating Partner of the global private equity firm Advent International and Senior Advisor with McKinsey & Company.
Previously he had been in the Advisory Board of Huisman Brasil, before this and for 10 years President of BG Brasil, a branch of BG Group plc and for 23 years a long career in Petrobras where he occupied several leadership positions, including E&P Managing Diretor and Executive VP of Braspetro, the international branch of Petrobras.
Mariano L. Vela is the President of Chevron Brasil, based in Rio de Janeiro, since July 2018.
Mariano holds a B.S. in Geology from University of La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and an
M.S. in Geology from University of South Carolina, United States. He has 22 years of oil & gas
energy industry experience worldwide.
He joined Chevron in 1998 as a Geologist and has held various positions of increasing
responsibility working various Chevron assets in the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela,
Thailand and Myanmar. Mariano was the President of Chevron’s subsidiary in Myanmar from
2012 to 2015, when he was appointed President of AmCham and the Business Council of U.S.
ASEAN. Before holding Chevron Brasil President position, Mariano was a leading sponsor on
Chevron’s Global Earth Sciences Group, managing Chevron’s Global Earth Science Personnel
Development Committee, connecting company’s earth sciences technology programs with the
development of the workforce.
Prior to his career at Chevron, Mariano was a Research Assistant at the Energy and Geosciences
Institute at the University of Utah and at the Earth Sciences and Research Institute at the
University of South Carolina, working in regional Oil & Gas projects in Argentina. Since 2019
Mariano is a member of the Board of Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás Natural e
Biocombustiveis-IBP and a director of AmCham Brasil.
Mariano L. Vela is married and has three children.

Thiago Barral has been an employee of the Energy Research Office (EPE) since 2007. In
February 2019, he was appointed CEO.
Prior to this position, he also worked at the EPE as Director of Economic and Energy Studies
and Head of the Power Generation Projects Department. His works ranged from the
guidelines and calculation of cap price for the energy auctions and supply planning for
isolated systems, to energy demand studies, distributed generation and energy efficiency,
and socio-environmental studies associated to the expansion of energy infrastructure.
Thiago holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UFJF, a Master in Water Resources and
Environment from COPPE / UFRJ and a post-graduate degree in Public Administration from
FGV-RJ.
Viviana Coelho is a chemical engineer from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), a biologist from PUC-PR, with a master’s degree in environmental technology from Imperial College in London, an MBA in advanced administration from COPPEAD, a postgraduate degree in innovation from Unicamp and extensive executive training at institutions such as INSEAD, IMD, Cambridge University, IBGC, London Business School and Columbia University. At Petrobras for 18 years, she also currently represents the company in the Executive Committee of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative and in the IPIECA Climate Change group. She previously acted in several roles in the Downstream and in the Research Center (Cenpes) areas, among them, as general manager of gas, energy and sustainable development innovation. Before Petrobras, she acted as a consultant in projects for multinational companies of several segments in various countries.
Graduated in mechanical engineering from Escola de Engenharia Mauá – SP, with an
MBA in Management from COPPEAD-UFRJ, Victor has a vast experience in the oil and
gas segment. In over 30 years at Subsea 7, he was responsible for several projects,
focusing on deepwater technologies. For 17 years he has been the company leader for
South America, responding directly to the executive team and board of Subsea7 in
Europe. Since 2017 he has been the CEO of Açu Petróleo, a Prumo and Oiltanking
company acting on the crude oil midstream segment. Victor also serves as board
member in Porto do Açu, Dome and BP Prumo and as member of the Advisory Board of
COPPEAD-UFRJ.
Alvaro Ranero has just been appointed Project Director for Block 29 Mexico. Prior to this role, he was Vice President for Decommissioning & Investment Management at Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, recipient of the Excellence in Decommissioning award by the OGUK and currently serves on the Board of Decom North Sea. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the International Oil and Gas Industry. He began his career as a Production Engineer at Anadarko Petroleum and holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
Alvaro joined Repsol in 2005 and since then has held roles of increasing responsibility. Prior to arriving in the UK in 2015, he was Asset Director in Venezuela for 4 years. He has a wide range of experience in mature assets management and projects delivery. Throughout his career he has held international assignments in the US, Guatemala, Canada, Libya, Algeria, Venezuela and now in the UK.
Amure Pinho is the President of Brazilian Startups Association (ABStartups), a non profit organization helping more than 5.000 startups around the country. Invested in more than 20 startups and sold one of his companies to B2W, one of the biggest retail groups in Brazil. Serial entrepreneur, passionate about the Brazilian startup ecosystem, he is a mentor on many acceleration programs and speaker at global events such as SXSW, TechCrunch, TEDx and Campus Party.
Artur Nunes Da Silva was appointed Vice-President of Total E&P Deepwater & Subsea Product Line on October 1, 2018. In his role, Mr. Nunes da Silva leads the Development Studies and Technical Support to Total E&P worldwide Assets and Opérations.
Mr. Nunes Da Silva joined Total in 1996 as a Production Engineer in Pau, France, and has since worked his entire career in the Group’s Exploration & Production branch. As an engineer he has held positions in well performance, project development, pre-project studies and site management in Angola, France and Qatar.
From 2010 to 2014, Mr. Nunes Da Silva returned to his home country of Angola to take the position of Block 32 Asset Manager, wherein lies one of Total E&P Angola’s flagship projects, Kaombo, one of the largest subsea network ever installed. In September 2014, he was appointed Managing Director of Total E&P Uruguay, where he brought a rich experience in the ultra-deep offshore sector with a water depth world record achieved with Raya exploration well.
More recently, Mr. Nunes da Silva was President & CEO of Total E&P Canada in charge of Group’s long-term assets in the Athabasca Oil Sands region.
Mr. Nunes Da Silva graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM) in Rueil-Malmaison, France. He is fluent in four languages: English, French, Portugese and Spanish.

Claudio Mastella is the head of Marketing and Sales in Petrobras, being responsible for the oil products business in Brazilian markets. He has 32 years of experience in the oil industry, where he held various management positions in the supply chain of crude and products, being the former Executive Manager of Logistics in Petrobras. Haleema A. Alamri, is an R&D program leader at Saudi Aramco working on the development of innovative materials for sustainability in plastics, she also works as a research affiliate at MIT (Chemistry department). Dr. Helder Queiroz Pinto Jr. is an economist from UFRJ, with a Master’s Degree in Energy Planning from COPPE / UFRJ, and a PhD in Energy Economics from the University of Grenoble, France. He is Associate Professor at the Economics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and member of the Energy Economics Group since 1994. In the period 2002-2003, he was Director of Research at IE / UFRJ. He was visiting professor of the Universities of Oxford (2001) and Paris Dauphine (2009 and 2016). He was also a professor of postgraduate courses for energy professionals from the University of Sherbrooke-Montreal in Canada (from 2003 to 2007). In 2010, he was appointed Academic Chair of the 33rd International Conference of the Association of Energy Economists held in Rio de Janeiro in June of the same year. He has published several publications in academic journals and books. In 2012, he published, with Professor Mauricio Tolmasquim, the book titled Regulatory Markings of the World Oil Industry, by the publisher Synergia. In 2016, he coordinated the revision and updating of the second edition of the book Economia da Energia: economic fundamentals, historical evolution and industrial organization, published by Elsevier Publishing. Between 2011 and 2015, he was director of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels – ANP and responsible, among other attributions, for the coordination of the 11th and 12th Round of Petroleum Block Bidding and Round 1 of the Pre-Salt. During the same period, he was a Member of the Electric Sector Monitoring Committee (CMSE).

José Carlos holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (1985), a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1987) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991). He is currently Full Professor of the Chemical Engineering Program at COPPE, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a permanent member of the Graduate Program in Chemical and Biochemical Process Engineering at the School of Chemistry, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is a member of Editorial Boards and Committees of several scientific journals, full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences since 2010 and full member of the National Academy of Engineering since 2014. He has experience in the area of Chemical Engineering, with a general emphasis on chemical reactors, and particular emphasis in the area of modeling, simulation and control of polymerization systems. José Carlos has conducted hundreds of R&D projects with industrial partners, published more than 440 technical articles in scientific journals and has more than 8000 citations in technical and scientific articles, with an H factor of 45 (on 08/01/2020).
José Firmo has over 30 years of experience in the Oilfield Services industry. Since 1992 when he joined Schlumberger, he has worked in numerous positions ranging from Testing & Wireline Field Engineer offshore Brasil, Field Manager positions in the North and South America, Segment Global Human Resources Director, Vice President of Operations Latin America and President of Schlumberger Brasil.
Firmo was also Western Hemisphere Senior Vice President of Seadrill Operations from 2014 to 2019, President of IBP – Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute from 2017 to 2019 and President of ABESPETRO – Brazilian Oil and Gas Association of Service Companies from 2016 to 2017.
Currently, Firmo is CEO of Porto do Açu, a Prumo Group company, responsible for the development and management of Port of Açu, the largest Brazilian private port-industry asset.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Firmo holds a Master in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
Juliano Dantas is an executive in the Energy industry, having a broad range of experiencies in the field, from Wells construction, Flow assurance, Off Shore Asset management to Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and HR. Currently heads the R&D at Petrobras (CENPES). Livia Valverde has been our Director for Brazil since 2018. Mrs. Valverde previously served as our Legal Manager and has been with our company since 2013. She is a lawyer graduated from the Catholic University of Salvador in Brazil and holds a Master´s Degree in Corporate Law from the Brazilian Institute of Capital Markets – IBMEC and an MBA in Environmental Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation. With more than 17 years of experience in the industry of oil and gas exploration and production, she has served as Legal and Environmental Manager for international E&P companies based in Rio de Janeiro, where she was responsible for the legal, environmental and regulatory areas of such companies.
Has a bachelor’s degree as mechanical engineer from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), with a post-graduate degree in Maintenance Engineering and an MBA in Business Logistics from FGV. He has been in BR since 1998 and has held other executive positions in logistics, marketing and commercial activities at the company, including the position of Chief Commercial of the Network Stations and Retail Officer.
Graduated in Social Communications in the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ) and post-graduated in Public Relations and Marketing in Concordia University, in Canada, Maria Clara has worked in several communication agencies, government and non-profit organizations in different fields such as insurance, health, economy and energy throughout 12 years. Her last position was Head of Relationship Marketing at Brazilian, Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP), managing the initiative Youth IBP, focused on attracting talents to the energy industry. In 2019, Maria Clara started her journey in Equinor, the Norwegian that is one of the major energy companies in the world, in charge of the Employer Branding, Onboarding and Recruitment areas.
Michael Deal is the Vice President of Digital Transformation at ExxonMobil Upstream Integrated Solutions Company where he is focused on helping the upstream businesses to identify and execute high value digital opportunities and drive digital capabilities into the business.
He has more than 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience with ExxonMobil research, exploration, development, production companies and the corporate headquarters.
Prior to his current role, Michael was the Asia Pacific Vice President for Exploration and New Ventures. Other positions have included upstream advisor to the corporate Management Committee, research manager for geophysics, and multiple subsurface roles across development and production.
Michael holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Geophysics.
Nivio Ziviani is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Computer Science (DCS) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Member of the Administrative Councils of Kunumi and Petrobras, and Member of the Digital Transformation Advisory Board of IBP. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and is a Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the National Order of Scientific Merit in the classes Comendador and Gran Cruz. As an entrepreneur he founded companies from knowledge generated within the DCS/UFMG, namely: Kunumi (co-founded in 2016), Neemu (acquired by Linx in 2015), Akwan (acquired by Google Inc. in 2005) e Miner (acquired by Folha de São Paulo/UOL Group in 1999). He is the author of the book Design of Algorithms and co-author of over 180 scientific articles in the areas of algorithms, information retrieval and artificial intelligence.

Robert Prueser is the Vice President Director & Operations Manager at ExxonMobil in Brazil with aim on oil & gas exploration and production activities.
He has over 25 years of experience across ExxonMobil’s global upstream business lines.
He has held leadership positions in many of the company’s core project areas such as: Angola, Nigeria, US Gulf of Mexico, Sakhalin Island, and East Canada, with a particular focus on deep water.
Since 2018 he has been focused on building ExxonMobil’s operational capacity in Rio de Janeiro, where he lives as an expatriate.
Robert holds geoscience degrees from the University of South Carolina and Gustavus Adolphus College.
Laszlo Varro, who has worked at the IEA since 2011, became the Agency’s Chief Economist at the start of 2016, succeeding Fatih Birol, who took over as IEA Executive Director on 1 September 2015.
As Chief Economist, Mr. Varro leads the Economics and Investment Office (EIO), a newly created group within the IEA that aims to offer sound and consistent energy economics and methodological support for the Agency’s work. EIO also provides strategic support for the Executive Director’s agenda.
Prior to assuming his new role, Mr Varro served as IEA Head of Gas, Coal and Power Markets. In this post he was responsible for gas market and supply security analysis, LNG markets, gas market reforms and infrastructure policy. He led the Electricity Security Action Plan, the IEA work programme that provides comprehensive coverage of the policy, market design, infrastructure regulation and investment aspects of maintaining electricity security during the transition to a low-carbon power system.
Before joining the IEA, Mr Varro was the Director for Strategy Development at MOL Group. From 2000 to 2005, he worked as the Head of Price Regulation at the Hungarian Energy Office. A Hungarian national, Mr Varro started his career at the National Bank of Hungary after completing his graduate degree at the University of Cambridge and the Corvinus University of Budapest.
Mrs. Agnes Maria de Aragão da Costa is the Head of the
Regulatory Special Advisory Office of the Ministry of Mines and
Energy – MME, with a specialty in Energy and Mining Economics.
She has been working at MME for 15 years, formulating public
policy recommendations and monitoring the results of these
policies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economic Sciences from
the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a master’s
degree in Energy from the University of São Paulo (USP). She is a
public servant, career member of the Specialists in Public Policy
and Government Management. She is a member of Petrobras’
Oversight Board (Conselho Fiscal). From 2014 to 2015, she was a
member of the Board of Directors of CEAL and CEPISA. Then she
bacame a member of Eletrobras’ Oversight Board (Conselho
Fiscal) from September 2015 to May 2019. She was an alternate
member of Petrobras’ Oversight Board from April 2015 to July
2020. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of Norte
Energia S.A. from July 2019 to July 2020.
Alejandro Segura is Shell’s General Manager for Nature Based Solutions in Latin America. Alejandro joined Shell in 2016 as New Business Development Manager Brazil and successfully led and closed a number of upstream projects during his tenure, most notably the acquisition of several exploration blocks in Brazil’s bidding rounds. Before joining Shell Alejandro held roles in legal, compliance, deal delivery and asset commercial with regional accountability throughout Latin America; first at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington D.C., and later at BG based in its Rio de Janeiro and Houston offices. Alejandro is both a Mexican and Brazilian national, a lawyer by training, and fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Bernard Appy is a director at Centro de Cidadania Fiscal (CCiF), an independent think tank created to contribute to the improvement of the Brazilian tax system.
From 2003 to 2009, Mr. Appy was Deputy Minister, Secretary for Economic Policy and Secretary for Fiscal and Economic Reforms in the Ministry of Finance in Brazil. During this period he was also chairman of the board of Banco do Brasil.
From 1995 to 2002 and from 2011 to 2014, Mr. Appy was a partner and director at LCA Consultores, a consultancy firm in Brazil.
From 2009 to 2011, he was a director at the Brazilian Stock and Futures Exchange (BM&FBovespa).
From 1996 to 2002 he was a professor in the Economics Department at the Catholic University (PUC) in São Paulo.

Francisco Ganzer is the COO of Ipiranga Produtos de Petroleo. He has over 30 years of experience in leadership positions in the commodities businesses.
Prior to joining Ipiranga in June 2020, Francisco spent 32 years in the global Agribusiness industry – commodities, food and ingredients – with Bunge. He led the Bunge’s Food and Ingredient business in South America, and earlier as the Managing Director of the businesses in Italy, the Middle East and Africa, where he led the development and implementation of the company’s entrance strategy in that region.
He also served as the Global Technical Director for Bunge in a moment of strong global growth.
Francisco leads today Ipiranga’s trading, operations and logistics. He holds an BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Parana, and an Executive MBA from IMD / Lausanne-Switzerland.

Helio Mattar holds a degree in Production Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Stanford. He served as executive of national and multinational companies, as well as of his own companies. He is co-founder of Instituto Ethos and founder of Instituto Akatu, entities which reinforce his belief that companies have an outstanding role in building a better society and that consumers should use the power of their actions to recognize more sustainable brands and to choose, use and dispose of products with the best impact on the environment and society.
Heloisa Borges Esteves holds a PhD, a master degree and a BA in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is also a lawyer, holding a BA and an LLM degree from the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Heloisa was a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia Law School and a fellow at Columbia Women´s Leadership Program from the Columbia University.
She has authored or co-authored research papers and book chapters on energy economics, economic regulation, law and economics and antitrust.
Heloisa served in several positions in the Brazilian Public Administration (as a teacher, researcher and federal public servant) and joined the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels in 2005, as a Regulation Specialist. At ANP, she acted as Technical Advisor in the Antitrust Coordination and Superintendent Advisor, Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent of Licensing Rounds.
While serving in ANP Heloisa was responsible for the Brazilian bidding rounds held by ANP in the years 2018 and 2019, and for the modeling and review of the Brazilian tender protocols, concession and PSC contracts between 2017 and 2019.
Since May 2020, Heloisa joined the Energy Research Office (EPE) as the Director for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels Studies.
Jayme Meier has been Vice President of Deepwater Project Delivery in ExxonMobil’s Global Projects Company since October, 2019. She is focused on delivering deepwater projects in Guyana, Brazil, Australia and UK.
Jayme earned her B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Tulsa. She joined ExxonMobil in 1990 and has held a variety of production, development, commercial, environmental and technology roles.
Jayme’s recent accomplishments include leading the transition of people, processes and systems for the sale of ExxonMobil Norway operated assets in 2017. Later that year she took on the position of Engineering Vice President of ExxonMobil Research Company, leading 300 researchers and technologists.
Jayme and her husband Tom live in The Woodlands, Texas and have two children.
With over 25 years of experience in the mechanical industry, Leandro has advanced knowledge in design and manufacturing of equipment for the Automotive and Oil and Gas industries, accumulating solid experience in small, medium and large companies. Over the past 15 years, Leandro has developed his career leading projects in the oil and gas industry, with special emphasis on the development of offshore capital projects. As founder and executive director of Deep Seed Solutions since 2016, Leandro has supported the digital transformation in the oil and gas industry, with remarkable achievements leading the development of the expert system FLOCO® (Field Layout Concept Optimizer) and leveraging the development of Research, Development and Innovation in Country.
Since 2016 Lelio has been CEO of Intelie, a company which delivers Operational Intelligence solutions mainly for the O&G industry.
Before Intelie, Lelio worked for 8 years as a Director in different areas of Totvs. His professional career had been started in Accenture, where he worked from 2000 to 2008 in several consultancy projects for resource industry customers, especially in Petrobras Downstream Business Unit.
Lelio has also been an active board member and angel investor. He has a Mechanical Engineer bachelor degree, Process Engineering specialization by IETEC-MG and CPIM certified by APICs. Lelio has also participated in executive trainings in Isper and Wharton School and MIT, both in USA.

Patricia Grabowsky, selected by McKinsey as one of the Next Generation Woman Leaders Latin America in 2019, is a Materials Engineers graduated in UFRJ, with executive education certificates in Innovation & Strategy by MIT Sloan and Insper. With more than 10 years’ experience in the Oil&Gas sector, occupies today the position of Head of Innovations in Subsea 7 Brazil. After working with national and international clients as Coating and Project Engineer, in 2017 has taken the challenge to structure the Innovation Department and develop intrapreneurship and Ecossystem connexion programs. Is also the Coordinator of IBP’s Committee for Innovation Culture.
Renato T. Bertani holds B. Sci degree in Geology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and a PH. D. in Sedimentary Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Illinois, USA. He has over 40 years of international experience in exploration and production projects, acquisitions and divestments in several Latin American countries, West Africa, UK, and the USA Gulf of Mexico.
Mr. Bertani took over as the CEO of Barra Energia, a E&P company with focus in oil and gas industry of Brazil in May 2010 and has since then developed the company’s strategy, assembled a team of high quality and experienced industry professionals and implemented a very successful business plan.
He previously served for 31 years in various technical and high level managerial positions with Petrobras, the Brazilian state oil company. Among such positions were President of Petrobras America, Inc., Managing Director of Petrobras UK and Director of International E&P activities for the Petrobras Group.
Mr. Bertani served as President of the World Petroleum Council, an organization that congregates 65 member countries, from 2011 until 2014, and as Vice – President from 2005 through 2011. Shira Paulson became the interim head of upstream, Brazil in July 2020. She has spent 18 years working in bp, primarily within exploration, most recently as exploration manager for Brasil. In this role, she led a team of industry professionals in the successful access of exploration acreage in the prolific Pre-Salt and progressed bp’s strategy in upstream Brazil.
Prior to this role she held a variety of positions including, global Advisor and head of discipline – petroleum systems, Western Hemisphere basin analysis manager, and various technical contributor roles in Cairo, Sunbury, and Houston as an applied geoscientist.

Soichi Ide is MODEC group Chief Digital Officer and the Vice President of Operation in LATAM and Ghana. He holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering from University of Tokyo and has more than 25 years professional experience. In his career in MODEC, he assumed project development and project management for 15 years to deliver FPSOs for several charter projects. In the last 5 years, he took the role of Vice President of Operation where MODEC holds 17 FPSOs to operate, including 6 under construction. He has driven deep/wide breakout-sessions in production service for operational excellence, safe and sustainable production and leading into digital breakout-sessions.
Tania Cosentino has been Microsoft Brazil General Manager since January 2019 and has more than 30 years of professional experience. She worked 16 years at Siemens, spent two years at Rockwell and in January 2000 she went to Schneider Electric, where she developed a successful career for 19 years. She held several positions in the commercial area, lived and worked in Paris for a year and in 2009 she was the first Brazilian woman to assume the presidency of Schneider Electric subsidiary in Brazil. After that, she was promoted to President of the company in South America and held the position of Vice President of the company’s global quality & customer satisfaction. Tania was also a member of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board.

Anders Opedal was appointed President and CEO of Equinor on 2 November 2020.
Anders joined Equinor in 1997 as a petroleum engineer in the Statfjord operations. Since then, he has held a range of technical, operational and leadership positions in the company.

Edison Terra is vice president for Braskem Olefins & Polyolefins Business in South America. He leads Braskem initiatives on Circular Economy as well. Erick Portela is a Materials Engineer with a master’s degree in Engineering from Rio’s Pontifical

(Dom Cabral Foundation). He also attended courses abroad, in the field of Natural Gas, at

During his 21 years of experience working in the natural gas chain, he was CEO of Petrobras
Bolivia for four years; General Manager of the main natural gas processing plants in Brazil, with
responsibility for all the natural gas logistics contracts; and worked on the development of the
GASBOL business model. From 2017 to 2019, he was Strategic Analysis manager at Petrobras,
responsible for the company’s Strategic Plan and Business Plan.
Erick has also been a member of the supervisory boards of Transportadora Associada de Gás
S.A. – TAG (2016-2019) and Nova Transportadora Sudeste – NTS (2017-2019). From 2001 to 2006
he had responsibility at the TBG for the implementation of the Economic and Fee Model and
for coordination and implementation of the pipeline integrity risk analysis model, among other

José Formigli worked for 32 years as petroleum engineer in Petrobras Exploration and
Production, having been responsible among other tasks for the implementation of Pre-salt
projects since the first discoveries, as well as acting as Managing Director of E&P till
beginning of 2015, when retired from the company. Since then he works through his own
consultancy, Forsea Engenharia, as well as being member of some Advisory Boards. Formigli
is graduated in Civil Engineering from IME and has MBA from COPPEAD, is a member of
SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) and SUT (Society for Underwater Technology), among
others academic qualifications, besides receiving awards from SPE.
Ludmila Sampaio is a Drilling Engineer at Chevron Brasil, where she started as drilling and completions intern in 2017. She is member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2013, having served as President of the SPE PUC-Rio Student Chapter for 2 years. Ludmila represents Chevron Brasil on the IBP Youth Committee since 2019, and was nominated by the World Petroleum Council National Committee as Brazil’s delegate at the VI World Petroleum Council Youth Forum – Future Leaders Forum, held in Saint Petersburg – Russia in June of 2019.

Luis Henrique Guimarães is the CEO of Cosan Limited since April 2020. He is
also CEO of Cosan S.A. e Cosan Logística S.A., and board member of Raízen,
Comgás and Rumo.
The executive had previously worked as Raízen’s CEO from April 2016 to
March 2020, and Comgás’ CEO from April 2013 to December 2015. In April
2015, Guimarães started to accumulate the position of Investor Relations

Mario Carminatti was born in Brazil and graduated in Geology at the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 1977. Working for Petrobras since 1978, he began as well-site geologist in the Amazon region. In the early 1980’s he joined the exploration team of Campos Basin, when PETROBRAS discovered the first giant oil fields in deep waters. In 1991 completed his Ph.D. program on Stratigraphy and Sedimentology at the University of Parma, Italy.
Returning from Italy he joined the interpretation team in the Campos Basin. From 1996 to 1998 he coordinated the Deep-Water Petroleum System Evaluation Program in the Brazilian Atlantic sedimentary basins. From 1998 to 2008 he had been the Exploration Manager of New Frontier Areas and of South Coast Brazilian basins, conducting the exploratory activities in the Santos Basin.
Currently he is the Petrobras Exploration Executive Manager.
Mauro Andrade joined Equinor in Brazil in early 2009 as Commercial Manager responsible for the economic evaluation and tax structure of E&P projects in Brazil. In November 2011 he became VP of Public and Regulatory Affairs for Equinor Brazil. In December, 2015 took the position of head of Supply Chain Management for South America. Since August 2018 he is the VP of Supply Chain for the International area at Equinor.

Nathan Biddle is the Director of Premier Oil do Brasil Petróleo e Gás Ltda., responsible for project management and new business development in Brazil.
Nathan began his career working onshore development operations across the United States. He later worked in Angola on deepwater projects, prior to beginning his now extensive career in Brazil. Since moving to Brazil in 2008, he has worked on a wide range of projects ranging from onshore developments to deepwater pre-salt exploration across 6 different basins.
As an elected Director of the Brazilian Association of Exploration and Production (ABEP/IBP) in 2018, 19 & 20, Nathan has promoted industry initiatives for the growth and diversification of the Brazilian O&G Industry. In his role as Director, he has been a key player in pushing forward recent abandonment, decommissioning, financial guarantee and cessation of asset regulations that have assisted in generating investments from small and mid-cap independents in Brazil.
Nathan holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro COPPEAD School.
Mr Ardenghy is a Brazilian diplomat currently on leave. He holds a B.A. in Law and a master degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. He also did post-graduation studies in Oil and Gas at Rio de Janeiro Federal University. He held senior positions in the Brazilian Government and worked in different countries such Argentina and United States. He joined Petrobras last year and became Institutional Relations executive board member with responsibilities to oversee Communications, Social Responsibility, Government Affairs and Safety, Health and Environment. Previously he worked at the oil and gas regulator (ANP) and at BG E&P Brasil a British Oil and Gas company. He was a member of the Brazilian Petroleum Institute (IBP) and Board Member at the American Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Roberto Monteiro has been in the Company since 2014, having held the positions of Chief Operations Officer, in addition to Chief Financial Officer and New Businesses Director, currently cumulated with that of Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations at OGX Petróleo e Gás and Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations for OSX, in the shipping and offshore business. Mr. Monteiro held various previous positions at America Latina Logística – ALL, including Operations Director and Executive Director for Argentina. Mr. Monteiro holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP – São Carlos), and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School.
Working at Petrobras since 2005, he holds a degree in Business from PUC/BA, with an MBA in Corporate Finance from FGV/SP and a master’s degree in business from IBMEC. Previously, worked in KPMG in external audit.
Through his career at Petrobras worked as business analyst in the Strategy and
Planning area, having been expatriated to work for Petrobras Argentina. He temporarily held a position as Executive Manager of International E&P area. He held a position as Executive Manager in the Natural Gas area and Executive Manager in the Strategy area. Currently he is Executive Manager in Gas and Power area.
Telmo Ghiorzi is director of institutional relations of the Brazilian Association of Industrial Engineering (ABEMI). He has 30 years of experience in the sectors of energy and petroleum. He worked in companies such as Aker Solutions, Camargo Correa, Shell and is director of business relations of the UTC group. He holds a MSc in petroleum engineering, a PhD in public policies and a posdoc in business administration.
Wong Loon has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Engineering School of Mauá (1975). He has a specialization in Terminal and Pipeline Engineering, awarded by Petrobras, a postgraduate degree in Energy Business Management from FGV and a Senior Executive Program at Columbia University, in New York, USA. Mr. Wong Loon joined Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.- Petrobras in 1976 as a pipeline engineer and was later appointed supervisor, regional manager and general manager of the Department of Transportation. In 2000, Mr. Wong Loon was appointed Director of Pipelines and Terminals of Petrobras Transporte S.A. – Transpetro, which operates in the transportation and logistics sector of fuel in Brazil, with a particular focus on profitability. Wong led Oleoducto de Crudos Pesados - OCP Ecuador, a company that operates in the oil transportation sector, as CEO from 2007 to 2010, being responsible for a new strategic planning and cost reduction program. In 2011, he joined Logum, which operates in the ethanol transportation sector, being responsible for the construction and operation of Brazil’s first ethanol pipeline, as COO.
Arnaud Breuillac, 62, graduated from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon in 1981.
He joined TOTAL in 1982 and has served in various positions in its Exploration & Production Division, including Abu Dhabi, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Angola as well as the Refining Division in France.
From 2004 to 2006, he held the position of Vice President, Middle East ‐ Iran. In December 2006, he was appointed to the Management Committee of the Exploration & Production Division, concurrent with a new role as Senior Vice‐President, Continental Europe & Central Asia.
In July, 2010, he was appointed President, Exploration & Production, Middle East and in January, 2011, became a member of the Group’s Management Committee.
In 2014, Arnaud Breuillac became Member of Total Executive Committee and President, Exploration & Production, responsible for the Company’s increasingly diverse portfolio around the world.
Mark Wiseman is a Canadian investment manager and business executive and an industry-leading expert in alternatives and active equity investments. Among his advisory roles with various organizations, Mark serves as the chair of the board of directors of the Alberta Investment Management Corporation, and as a part-time Senior Advisor to Hillhouse Capital and Boston Consulting Group.
Until the end of last year, he was a Senior Managing Director at BlackRock, Global Head of Active Equities, Chairman of its alternatives business, and Chairman of BlackRock’s Global Investment Committee. He also served on BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2016, Mark was President & CEO of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Mark joined CPPIB in June 2005 as the organization’s Senior Vice-President, Private Investments. He was later named Executive Vice-President, Investments, responsible for managing all of the investment activities of CPPIB. He was named President & Chief Executive Officer in 2012.
Prior to joining the CPPIB, Mark was responsible for the private equity fund and co-investment program at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Previously, Mark was an officer with Harrowston Inc., a publicly traded Canadian merchant bank and a lawyer with Sullivan & Cromwell, practicing in New York and Paris. He also served as a law clerk to Madam Justice Beverley McLachlin at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University and a law degree and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Toronto. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Yale University, where he obtained a Master of Laws. Mark is a regular lecturer at the Harvard Business School and the University of Toronto, and is an adjunct professor at Tsinghua University.
Mark was a member of the Advisory Council on Economic Growth, which advised the Canadian Finance Minister on economic policies to achieve long-term sustainable growth. He is co-founder and former Chair of the Focusing Capital on the Long Term initiative. Mark also serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Alpine Canada, the United Way of Greater Toronto, Sinai Health Services, the Capital Markets Institute and the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. He is also a co-founder and Chair of the Century Initiative, an organization dedicated to growing Canada’s population. Mark is a certified member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors. Previously, he chaired the United Way of Toronto’s 2015 Campaign and Youth Without Shelter and is a past Board Member of Right to Play International and the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance.
Andrew Gould is a Partner in CSL Energy a Private Equity firm investing in Oilfield services.
He is the Chairman of the International Advisory Board of the BCG Center for Energy Impact based on his broad experience of the global oil and gas industry.
He serves on the Boards of Occidental Petroleum and McDermott and is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Kayross, a start-up company applying advanced analytic techniques to energy data.
From May 2012 until its sale to Royal Dutch Shell Mr. Gould was Non-Executive Chairman of BG Group, a multinational natural gas company. Prior to this, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Schlumberger Limited and had previously served in many other positions across a 37-year career.
Wael Sawan was appointed Upstream Director and a member of the Executive Committee of Royal Dutch Shell on July 1, 2019.
Wael joined Shell in 1997 and has worked in each of Shell’s core business units: Upstream, Integrated Gas and Downstream. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
In 2008, Wael was appointed Shell’s Vice President for Commercial, New Business and LNG in Qatar. In April 2012, he became Managing Director and Chairman of the Qatar Shell companies, including Pearl GTL, one of the largest oil and gas projects in the world. From 2015 to 2019, he served as Executive Vice President of Shell’s Deepwater Business, based in Houston.
Erik Oswald is Vice President, Exploration & New Ventures Americas for ExxonMobil Upstream Business Development Company.
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in Geoscience from the University of Washington, and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Erik joined ExxonMobil in 1991, and in 2008, Erik became Middle East Area Manager, ExxonMobil Exploration Company. In July of 2009, Erik transitioned to Region Operations Manager for Exploration in Europe and Greenland, based in London.
Erik was appointed Vice President of Business Development for ExxonMobil Exploration Company in Houston in 2011. In May of 2014, he was appointed Vice President, Americas, ExxonMobil Exploration Company.
Ieda Gomes has an international career spanning 35 years in the energy and infrastructure industry. She spent nearly 14 years as a group leader with BP plc in various commercial roles in L. America, M. East and S. Asia. Prior to BP Ieda was the CEO of the Sao Paulo Gas Company.
Ieda is currently an independent director at Saint-Gobain Group, Exterran Corporation, Bureau Veritas and Prumo Logistica. She is a senior visiting research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and FGV Energia. Ieda is a Councillor at Women in Leadership in Latin America and at the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain. She is also a regular columnist at Brazil Energy.
She has a degree in Chemical Engineering and MSc in Environmental Engineering (EPFL-Lausanne) and Energy (USP). Ieda received the 2001-2002 Veuve Clicquot Award Business Woman of the Year.
Mauricio Cárdenas is Senior Research Fellow at the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University, where he also teaches public finance. He is currently a member of https://theindependentpanel.org, that is assessing the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As Colombia’s minister of finance from 2012 to 2018, Cárdenas oversaw a successful adjustment program during the oil shock of 2014-2016. Despite a 50% reduction in exports and the loss of one-fifth of government revenues, Colombia preserved its investment grade status and was able to achieve remarkable social and economic progress. While in office, Cárdenas led a series of reforms that resulted in a significant expansion in formal employment and foreign investment. He was also responsible of coordinating efforts for Colombia’s accession to the OECD, which was completed in 2018.
Cárdenas was Chairman of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four (G-24). He was chosen by Euromoney, as finance minister of the year in 2015, and received several awards as best finmin in Latin America.
Before becoming finance minister, he served as minister of mines and energy. Earlier in his career he was Director of National Planning, Minister of Economic Development, and Minister of Transport.
Cárdenas has twice been the executive director of Fedesarrollo, Latin America’s premier economic and social policy think tank. He has also been a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he led the Latin American Initiative.
Cárdenas holds a PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of the Andes. He is married and has three daughters.
Jason Bordoff joined the Columbia faculty after serving until January 2013 as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Energy and Climate Change on the Staff of the National Security Council, and, prior to that, holding senior policy positions on the White House’s National Economic Council and Council on Environmental Quality. One of the world’s top energy policy experts, he joined the Administration in April 2009. At Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, Bordoff is a professor of professional practice and serves as founding Director of SIPA’s Center on Global Energy Policy. Prior to joining the White House, Bordoff was the Policy Director of the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the National Petroleum Council, a consultant to the National Intelligence Council, and serves on the boards of Winrock International, the New York Energy Forum and the Association of Marshall Scholars. Bordoff graduated with honors from Harvard Law School, holds an MLitt degree from Oxford University where he studied as a Marshall Scholar, and a BA magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University.
Graduated in Production Engineering, with an MBA at Coppead/UFRJ, Rafael Grisolia has more than 30 years of experience, mainly in the Oil & Gas sector. He has worked in the financial area of Esso, of Cosan and held the positions of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Investor Relations Officer (IRO) at Cremer, CFO at Grupo Trigo, CFO and IRO at Inbrands. In August 2017, he assumed the position of Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer at Petrobras Distribuidora, where he remained until June 2018, when he was invited to assume the same role at Petrobras. In March 2019, Grisolia was confirmed as CEO of BR Distribuidora.
